FACIALS
How often should I get a facial?
Ideally, every 4-6 weeks. Skin's cells turn over approximately every 28 days so getting facials helps move that process along. Of course, everyone has different skin types and conditions and this may vary by a few weeks per person.
Do you offer men's facials?
Absolutely! Men can get any type of facial treatment! Coming in unshaved is best as shaving too close to the time of your facial could lead to irritation. Have a beard? Great! Beard oils and moisturizers can be applied to this area if needed/wanted.
Can pregnant/nursing women get facials?
Yes! Skin can have many temporary concerns during hormonal changes, such as hyperpigmentation, acne, dryness, etc. that facials can help. Appropriate products and protocols will be used and followed to ensure client safety. Please indicate on your Intake Form if you are pregnant/nursing.
Can I get a facial on the same day that I get waxed?
For eyebrows or upper lip waxing, yes! For full face, chin, jaw or sideburn areas, waiting a week either before or after your facial will be much safer and avoid unnecessary irritation.
Do I need to take off my makeup?
No! Come in as you are, just keep in mind that your hairline may get slightly damp from the steam and towels.
How do I know what facial to get?
All treatments are completely custom, so you really just have to pick a time element that you'd like. Still not sure? The "Signature Facial" is the most common facial.
What should I do to prepare for my facial?
Please discontinue use of any skin thinning products (e.g. Retin-A, Retinol, Renova, AHAs, BHAs, Proactiv, Differin, etc.) at least 24-48 hours before your treatment. It would also be a good idea to take pictures of any skin care products that you're using at home if you have any questions or would like to assess your current regimen.
Can I get a facial if I'm on Accutane (Isotretinoin)?
It is best to avoid any kind of facial treatment while on Accutane. If you are concerned with hydration issues, we will require a doctor's note before treating anyone on Accutane, please contact us in the event you are wanting treatment.

Advanced Exfoliation
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a type of manual exfoliation achieved by using a sterile, surgical blade to gently scrape off any dead skin cells and vellus hair. In turn, you're left with smooth skin that makeup glides onto and enforces better product penetration.
Will dermaplaning make my hair grow back thicker?
No. Essentially, we are just shaving hair off mid-shaft at the surface of your skin. When it starts to grow back, sometimes it may feel thicker due to having a blunt edge from where it was just cut. This feeling will typically start to happen about 2 weeks after treatment and will go away within a week.
Who cannot get dermaplanning?
Those with active acne, rosacea, ezcema, psoriasis, and thicker facial hair should avoid a dermaplaning procedure.
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel, is a science-based treatment that, when properly administered, offers one of the most powerful, non-surgical skin improvements available. It involves the application of highly specialized acid and enzyme solutions to remove damaged layers of cells from the skin’s outer surface – revealing more glowing, youthful skin.
What is a progressive peel?
A progressive skin peel (AKA a superficial or lunchtime peel) is the mildest course of treatment, removing only the outer layer of the stratum corneum with no visible peeling. Repeated treatments on a regular schedule, up to once a week, will cause mild exfoliation for the skin with cumulative effects. This is best described as a mild, yet refining peel.
Progressive peels are a great preventative measure for stopping hyperpigmentation, acne, and fine lines in its tracks. When performed in a series, they can correct a variety of skin issues. Series are typically 6 treatments, spaced anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks apart.
What is a mid-depth peel?
A mid-depth skin peel targets the intra-epidermal layer and may be administered every four to six weeks as needed. Light flaking may occur, similar to a sunburn peel. Mid-depth peels offer excellent rejuvenating effects with minimal to no down time.
Mid-depth peels are more corrective. Because they are going a bit deeper into the epidermis, only 6-8 treatments can be done in a year.
Who can receive skin peels?
Anyone who is concerned with acne, scarring, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, aging, dullness of the skin, and even rosacea.
Who cannot receive skin peels?
Those who are pregnant/nursing, have taken Accutane within the last year, or have used skin thinning products within the last 72 hours.
How do I determine when I need a package of peels?
If you are wanting more correction versus a preventative measure, you would best be suited for a package, or series, of peels.
What do I need to do to prepare my peel treatment?
For a progressive peel, please discontinue use of any skin thinning/exfoliating products 48-72 hours prior to your appointment. This includes but is not limited to: Retin A, retinol, Renova, AHAs, BHAs, Proactiv, Differin, scrubs, and enzymes.
For a mid-depth peel, please discontinue use of any skin thinning/exfoliating products at least one week prior to your appointment, or as instructed by aesthetician. This includes but is not limited to: Retin A, retinol, Renova, AHAs, BHAs, Proactiv, Differin, scrubs, and enzymes.
Why does a mid-depth peel require a facial and a 24 hour patch test?
Because mid-depth peels go further into the skin and use stronger acids, there's more risk involved. By first receiving a facial treatment, we will be able to assess, and learn how your skin responds to certain products/situations. At this time we can do a 24 hour patch test. This involves the application of a small amount of acid to an inconspicuous area (typically on the jawline near the ear). After that, we wait 24 hours to ensure that no adverse reactions occur. This is a critical step in a mid-depth peel process to make sure you can have the safest and most effective treatment.

COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (CIT)/MICRO-NEEDLING
What is micro-needling?
This treatment uses an automated device that uses sterile micro-needles of a certain depth, catered to skin condition, to create thousands of micro-channels in the skin. In doing so, this triggers the wound-healing function of the body which in turn produces collagen and elastin to create a more even skin texture.
Micro-needling is not, contrary to popular belief, a means for product penetration. This is purely a procedure that stimulates collagen and elastin production.
What are the benefits?
Micro-needling helps to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and stretch marks.
Who can get micro-needling?
Most individuals would be a candidate for micro-needling. Contraindications for micro-needling include but are not limited to: use of Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last year, regular use of blood thinners, diabetics, current use of chemotherapy/radiation, hemophilia/bleeding disorders, facial injections within the last 2-3 weeks, pregnancy, skin cancer, tattoo (in treatment area), and PPO threads.
What areas can be treated?
Nearly all areas of the body and face can be treated! If you are considering a body treatment, please call/text 928.275.1121 to schedule a consultation for information on treatment pricing.
Does it hurt?
Before the actual micro-needling is performed, you will be numbed via a topical lidocaine cream to ensure a comfortable treatment. Very little to no pain should be felt. Without numbing cream, procedure is slightly uncomfortable but still tolerable in certain treatment areas.
Will I be bloody/scabby?
No! Pinpoint bleeding is a possibility and may occur but will be minimal.
What’s the downtime?
For the first few days, there may be very slight swelling, puffiness, and redness. For most individuals this will be about 2 days. On day 4, some will notice slight flaking to the skin. Most people will be able to return to their normal activities on the very same day! No makeup should be worn for at least 48 hours.
How many treatments will I need?
Some individuals may notice great results with just one treatment. Most people will benefit from a series of 3-4 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. Deeper scarring, wrinkles, and stretch marks will usually require more treatments, about 6-8 to see a result. After a series, yearly maintenance treatments are recommended.
Should I get micro-needling or a peel?
The main difference is that micro-needling is not an exfoliation treatment whereas a peel is. Micro-needling is great for treating deeper imperfections, a peel is excellent for treating more surface level imperfections. Both can be done in conjunction with one another, spaced two weeks apart with fantastic benefits. Peels and micro-needling cannot be done in the same day.
Can I get any other treatments done in addition to my micro-needling procedure on the same day?
In the treatment area of micro-needling, no. Please wait 1-2 weeks before receiving any facial/advanced exfoliation/waxing on treatment area.

Waxing
How long should my hair be?
Anywhere from ¼ to ½ of an inch is ideal, think a grain of rice. Any shorter and we risk the wax not adhering to the hair. Any longer and we risk breakage, thus not pulling hair from the root and you not getting a great treatment.
How long should I wait in between appointments?
This depends on the individual. Typically 3-5 weeks is ideal.
Can I be waxed during my menstrual cycle?
Yes! Just keep in mind that you may be more sensitive to pain. For bikini/Brazilian waxing, a tampon or menstrual cup must be in place.
Do you offer male Brazilian or male bikini waxing?
This service is currently not offered. Only female anatomy bikini/Brazilian waxing is offered at this time.
What do I need to do before my wax?
Please discontinue any use of skin thinning products 48 hours prior on the areas to be waxed, e.g. Retin-A, Renova, AHAs, BHAs, Proactiv, Differin, etc. Exfoliate several days before your appointment to ensure no hair follicles are being blocked by dead skin. If you're worried about pain, consulting your doctor about taking an aspirin 30 minutes before treatment can be a good idea.
Anyone taking Accutane (Isotretinoin) and at least 6 months to a year after, is not a candidate for a waxing treatment of any kind.
What do I need to do after my wax?
Your skin may be sensitive following your wax. Any red bumps or irritation should subside within a few hours. Avoid sun exposure/tanning, hot baths/hot tubs, sex/excessive rubbing, heavy lotions, and exfoliation for 48 hours following your service. After 48 hours, make sure that you exfoliate every 2-3 days to keep ingrown hairs away. Prescott Skin Care offers PFB Vanish, which helps treat and prevent ingrown hairs.
Why am I seeing stubble after waxing for the first time?
More than likely, all the hairs are not in the same growth cycle. Chances are, the hairs just below the skin's surface have just reached the top and are now giving a "stubble" feel, which can happen quite soon after a wax session. Don't worry! This will go away with regular waxing. As you continue to get treatments, hair will synchronize and will go into the same cycle, thus allowing all of the hair to be pulled at once. Keep in mind that it can take a few treatments for this to happen.
Do you double-dip?
No! Double-dipping is a technique where an aesthetician will use a wax applicator to apply wax on the treatment area and then take that same applicator and dip it back into the wax pot. This contaminates the entire pot of wax thus spreading bacteria to each and every client. I have a strict "no double-dipping" policy that I abide by to ensure the most sanitary treatments.
Is there an age limit?
For most waxing services as long as a parent or guardian is present, 12 and up. Bikini, Modified Bikini, Maintenance Brazilian, and Brazilian, 18 and up.
